John Westmacott (Founder & MD)
John Westmacott took a Degree in Industrial Design at the University of Plymouth and later an MBA at Imperial College, London. After working in the Venture Capital sector for HW Park Place, focusing on clean energy technology and telecoms, he gained Sales & Marketing experience working for Energis plc, a spin off of the National Grid and later in software with Clairpoint. He moved back to the energy & environment sector, joining Greenergy and in August 2006 John founded Land Energy.

Richard McLane (Design & Engineering Director)
Richard was educated at York Technical College and took a Degree in 3 Dimensional design at Newcastle Polytechnic. Early in his career he founded Bisca, a now a leading architectural engineering, design and manufacturing company. Since 2002 he has been a Director of Kirkdale Developments, a property development and construction company. Having been looking for an opportunity to contribute to clean energy development, Richard McLane met John Westmacott and became a partner and Design & Engineering Director of LandEnergy in 2007.

Peter Teasdale (Operations Director)
Peter studied agriculture at Harper Adam College and then founded Ryedale potatoes, which operated successfully in the bulk growing and supply of potatoes to McCains in North Yorkshire for 15 years. Peter has 30 years of farming experience and was looking for diversification opportunities, particularly in bioenergy. Peter joined Land Energy in 2006 and brings his practical in depth knowledge of agriculture, soils, energy crops and in addition, all aspects of bulk logistics and operations.

Simon Weatherseed (Group Finance Director)
Simon had 25 years experience as a corporate financier and running early-stage businesses. For example, Simon was CEO of a telecoms rollup backed by Investec and CFO of an Internet access provider backed by BT, Intel, Virgin and Foresight. Simon has a MA in Economics and Law from Emmanuel College, Cambridge.
