Following the PM’s announcement regarding new working practices to help stop the spread of COVID-19, we would like to reassure our customers and suppliers that as far as possible, Land Energy is continuing to work as normal. If anything changes we will of course keep you updated.
Confirmation of important points concerning ongoing Land Energy operations:
As part of the energy industry, producing solid fuel for commercial and domestic use and electricity for export to the UK grid, Land Energy falls within the definitions, as confirmed by the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs, of producing Essential Goods and its employees are Key Workers.
Therefore, Land Energy’s contractors, sub-contractors, delivery drivers and other service providers are permitted to travel to and from their homes and Land Energy’s plants and working sites to carry out their work as usual.
Land Energy sends supplies throughout the UK under the ‘Woodlets’, ‘Sorbeo’ and ‘Land Energy’ brands in packaged and bulk formats. Our customer base includes:
• NHS hospitals
• Nursing homes for the elderly
• Domestic properties
• Commercial poultry rearing
• Livestock bedding
In the case of NHS hospitals, nursing homes and domestic properties they are dependent upon our products for heating and hot water. In the case of poultry and livestock, our products are required to maintain animal welfare.
It is therefore vital we maintain our supplies to these customers; the authorities have confirmed that a) these products will continue to reach their destination uninterrupted and b) the upstream wood fibre supply chain is authorised to continue working.
Land Energy will continue to observe all health precautions, as advised by the Department of Health and the National Health Service at its operational sites and those of its suppliers and customers.
