Land Energy and Forestry and Land Scotland Partnership: Plant Visit and Sustainable Timber Supply
Land Energy was delighted to host the Forestry & Land Scotland (FLS) South and Central Regional harvesting teams, led by their new Head of Marketing and Sales, Stephen Ramage, marking another milestone in the Land Energy and Forestry and Land Scotland partnership.
The visit began with a boardroom presentation, where our team shared insights into Land Energy’s timber requirements and product range. This was followed by a guided tour of our Girvan plant, led by staff members, showing the FLS team every step of the production process from timber arriving at the weighbridge, through pellet and briquette manufacturing, to bulk loading for transport.
Land Energy maintains several supply contracts with FLS, covering both round wood and biomass, and we’re looking to expand this partnership even further. FLS is responsible for harvesting nearly 3 million tonnes of timber annually, with around 900,000 tonnes from the South Scotland region.
The visit provided the FLS team with a clear understanding of the scale of operations at Girvan and the volume of timber needed annually to support our sustainable energy products.
We are proud to continue building the Land Energy and Forestry and Land Scotland partnership, ensuring a responsible, reliable, and sustainable timber supply across Scotland and the rest of the UK.
